Urgosorb Silver – combining Alginate with Hydrocolloid and Silver salt.  Powerful Absorption with Antibacterial Activity. The combination of Alginate (Alginates are natural polymers extracted from various species of brown seaweed) and Hydrocolloid (CMC) provide excellent absorption and de-sloughing for heavily exuding wounds. A moist wound environment is created and maintained whilst the Silver provides antibacterial activity.  Urgosorb Silver is a sterile dressing composed of calcium alginate fibres and hydrocolloid particles(sodium carboxymethyl cellulose); which provide high absorbency. Due to its synergistic combination of two natural polymers, Urgosorb is suitable for managing heavy exudate, effective debridement and provides excellent haemostatic performance.  Urgosorb creates a moist environment, which is favourable to wound healing. The ability to gel block in contact with wound exudate means that the product retains its integrity and can be removed in one piece
