Key Features of Urgocell silver Dressings

Urgocell Silver is a super absorbent, non occlusive, non adhesive dressing, impregnated with Silver, and using the Lipido-Colloid Technology (TLC), an exclusive innovation patented by Laboratoires Urgo.

Urgocell® Silver is composed of 3 layers:

1) Non adherent lipido-colloid interface (hydrocolloid-petroleum jelly, cohesive polymers and a polyester mesh) on contact with the wound
2) Expanded super absorbent polyurethane foam pad
3) Non woven, semi permeable 100% polyurethane backing Absorption of exudates

The super-absorbent polymer is characterized by a high capacity for vertical absorption of exudates.

* Retention capacity of exudates under pressure High vertical absorption and exudates retention capacity guarantees healing without maceration under compression.

* Formation of the Lipido-colloid gel on contact with exudates The hydrocolloid particles (CMC-Na) of the dressing in contact with the wound exudates hydrate to form a moist interface enabling healing in a moist environment. The petroleum jelly component increases non-adhesion to the wound.

* Antibacterial activity Silver ions included in the TLC interface offer a contact powerful and efficient anti-bacterial activity

* Semi-permeable structure of the dressing's non-woven backing The permeability of the external backing is responsible for the dressing's extremely high permeability
