Urgocell® Silver is composed of 3 layers: ? Non adherent lipido-colloid interface (hydrocolloid-petroleum jelly, cohesive polymers and a polyester mesh) on contact with the wound ? Expanded super absorbent polyurethane foam pad ? Non woven, semi permeable 100% polyurethane backing Absorption of exudates The super-absorbent polymer is characterized by a high capacity for vertical absorption of exudates. ? Retention capacity of exudates under pressure High vertical absorption and exudates retention capacity guarantees healing without maceration under compression. ? Formation of the Lipido-colloid gel on contact with exudates The hydrocolloid particles (CMC-Na) of the dressing in contact with the wound exudates hydrate to form a moist interface enabling healing in a moist environment.
